Description: The film shows a landscape in which the railway represents the unifying process that delivers Italy to modernity; the film proposes itself as the poem of the renewal of the infrastructure on rails, those metallic "ribbons" that once again connect the goods exchanges without stopping. New hydraulic brakes and automatic systems regulate the movement of the wagons, but next to the metal, the workers' swarm, the real engine, as well as the most important, of the great works of reconstruction of Italy.
